WHERE ARE THE TOP PLACES TO GO IN LANZAROTE?

Lanzarote, as we know, has been a favourite for sun-seekers for quite a few years now. It’s a great destination for those looking for a sunny getaway that’s just a few hours away, and I personally love it. Not only does it have naturally beautiful beaches and warm weather if you love to relax, but there are also plenty of attractions and places to visit to keep your holiday exciting. Check out at a few of my favourite places in Lanzarote below.

Timanfaya National Park

Timanfaya National Park is one of the most popular places to visit in Lanzarote. Located in the southwestern part of Lanzarote, this Spanish national park is popular for its red and black landscape of volcanoes, which was created by the enormous eruptions that happened 300 years ago. Take a guided coach tour of the national park, where you can stop off and hike up the volcanic rocks, which is great for kids. Or, for a totally new experience, take a camel ride through the lava fields. Be sure to get some great pictures of the view while you’re up there!

Mirador del Rio

For those who are looking to enjoy some spectacular views, the Mirador del Rio is the place for you. Mirador, which actually means ‘a lookout’, is a cliff-top structure found in the north of the island at the end of the Raisco de Famara range. Not only will you get to see an impressive landscape of the Atlantic Ocean and the caves, but there’s also a restaurant built inside one of the caves, so you can experience some great views while you stop off to enjoy some lunch.

Lagomar Restaurant

Built into volcanic rock, this restaurant boasts some amazing architecture with maze-like corridors, a pool, and its very own museum. This restaurant first became famous in the film industry and serves traditional Mediterranean cuisine and some of the finest refreshing cocktails.

Santai Marina Lounge

Although Lanzarote isn’t as popular for its nightlife as some of Spain’s other islands, the Santai Marina Lounge is not to be missed. With views that overlook the ocean and seaport, this bar creates some of the most unique and delicious cocktails. You can enjoy your drinks whilst sitting on comfortable sofas along the sea. As well as experiencing some of the art exhibitions they host, they also have a range of musicians and DJs that perform from day to night.

Papagayo Beach

This beach is one of the most relaxed and prettiest beaches you’ll find in Lanzarote. Even though it’s one of the smaller beaches, it has some of the calmest waters, so is perfect for those that love to go diving. It’s great for families too, as kids will love the shallow waves. Head here for ultimate fun in the sun.

Aqualava Waterpark

Known as one of the best waterparks in Lanzarote, the Aqualave Waterpark can be found in Playa Blanca. It offers its very own beach, with a wave pool and the Magma Lazy River, which you can sail down in floats. There are also several big slides, including the Timan Fire slide which has a number of loops, perfect for adrenaline lovers.
